self-portrait as a cacophony ~ Lili Fátrai

clever thing, that child,
slight, and her first breath! silent
a nick of a being
stuffed into the vast oesophagus of things,
slowly digested the bells
in the stomach as a warning : as long
as she lives the bells will keep on
singing the bells are obedient and
full of sense ;

bells in her throat, the bells of
a cathedral bells as a metaphor
for bells the meat, the bells the
knowing vanity and shame rhythmically, like
bells

the world will eat the bells and ring
the bells
with ardour comparable to the saint : hungry
and full of filth.
